Independent Study

The science independent study for space is due December 18th. The packet states that I need to see a typed first draft this Friday.  I do not need to see it.  I know the children are working on their projects.  If someone needs me to help edit, of course, s/he may have me look at a draft, otherwise the typed final copy is all I need to see on the 18th.  Each question only requires a one paragraph answer.  Here is a GREAT resource for finishing the bibliography.

Space Day and Auction

  Space Day - Wednesday, September 17th  8:15 - 11:30

Space Day is fast approaching on Wednesday, December 17th from 8-11:30.  In order to make it a day to remember, we are asking each student to donate $2-$3 to help cover the supply costs.  The items we will purchase with this money include: Dehydrated Space food, Alka-Seltzer, balloons, stickers, string, duct tape, masking tape, ink for pictures, and film canisters.  

Remember to let us know if you are able to volunteer that day.  Just send me a quick email to Jenfisler@verizon.net

Class Silent Auction -
I will be having a class Silent Auction the week before we have the winter break. The students will be able to use their Fisler Bucks to buy real things. They have been earning money for homework, classwork, and behavior since the beginning of the year.
I will be buying a bunch of items for the auction, but I am asking if parents could also donate items. It would be greatly appreciated, by the students, if you could purchase something small for a 5th grade boy or girl that they can purchase at the auction. The Dollar Tree, the 99 cents store, or the dollar stop at Target are great places to get a few items. Thank you for your help with this!!

Happy December!  I hope you all had a fun, family filled Thanksgiving holiday.  I know I have a lot to be thankful for this year.
